Effective February 25, 2022, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”) no longer requires the wearing of masks on buses or vans operated by public or private school systems, including early care and education/child care programs. However, school districts may still require people to wear masks on buses or vans at their discretion.
Prior to February 25, 2022, the CDC required face masks to be worn by all people while on public transportation. The new change aligns with the CDC’s updated guidance that no longer recommends universal indoor mask wearing by adults and children in K-12 schools and early education settings in regions with a low or medium COVID-19 Community Level.
Tueth Keeney will continue to monitor the ever-changing landscape of COVID-19 and its impact on the K-12 context.
