Melanie Keeney Addresses Employment Law Issues With College Business Officials at Professional Development Workshop

Melanie Keeney, firm shareholder, recently took time to speak at the Central Area College and University Business Officers’ (CACUBO) St. Louis Professional Development Workshop. The workshop took place on February 10 and 11, 2010 at the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark Hotel.

Melanie’s presentation, titled “Employment Law: Persistent Issues and Recent Developments” addressed well-established labor and employment legal issues, as well as recent Supreme Court decisions effecting employment law. Topics covered included FMLA, the ADA, Discrimination and Retaliation.

Melanie Keeney practices in the areas of Education, Employment, and Immigration law. Melanie’s experience in education law includes representing numerous Missouri school districts and institutions of higher education regarding a wide range of personnel and student matters. She also specializes in First Amendment issues, ranging from free speech issues to religion in the schools. Melanie also represents institutions of higher education, corporations and individuals in employment and immigration law matters. She frequently speaks on immigration, labor and education issues. Melanie has been listed in St. Louis Magazine’s “St. Louis Best Lawyers” and “The Best Lawyers in America,” from 1997-2008, and in “Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers,” 2005-2009 editions as a top lawyer and one of the top 50 female lawyers in Missouri and Kansas and in Kansas City Magazine as one of the “Top Missouri Lawyers.”
