This session will review required and recommended investigation procedures and the due process rights involved in the investigation. Attendees will take away best practices for how to question witnesses, gather evidence and prepare a helpful report for the Title IX Decision Maker.
Decision Maker – Friday, October 16, 2020
The updated Title IX regulations separate the roles of Investigator and Decision Maker. This session will explore this “new” role and review the required elements of the decision-making process, including the evidentiary standards, due process rights, and the drafting of the written decision.
Appeals Officer – Friday, October 30, 2020
The Title IX Appeals Officer is another new role under the updated Title IX regulations. This session will discuss in detail the required and recommended appeal procedures, due process rights at this level, the evidentiary standards, and the drafting of the appeal decision.
