Attorneys from Tueth Keeney often contribute their time and talents on a voluntary basis to educate and inform their colleagues and members of the community. Ian Cooper was a featured speaker at the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis’ (BAMSL) conference on the Art of Mediation Advocacy. Ian spoke on the topic of “Effective Mediation Advocacy from the Advocate’s Perspective” before an audience of lawyers, mediators and judges. The program took place on August 28, 2009 at the BAMSL headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri. The program was designed to help the participants become better mediation advocates in civil litigation. It included discussion on the practical and psychological differences between the litigation and mediation processes, and why different advocacy skills are required in each.
