Melanie Gurley Keeney and Kate Nash will be presenting to the National School Boards 2015 School Law Practice Seminar for the Council of School Attorneys on October 23, 2015. Their presentation on Sexual Harassment in the Workplace ““ The Do’s, Don’ts and Defenses of Handling Sexual Harassment Claims will focus on the often-complicated legal and practical aspects of sexual harassment claims in the workplace, including investigations, responding to charges of discrimination, and issues related to litigating such claims. They will cover liability under both Title VII and Title IX, discussing recent developments both in sexual harassment case law and sex-based discrimination case law as well as applicable defenses and practical preventative measures.

Melanie Gurley Keeney practices in the areas of Employment, Immigration, and Education law. Melanie represents institutions of higher education, corporations and individuals in immigration law matters, including obtaining nonimmigrant and immigrant visas and handling employer sanctions issues, I-9 compliance, E-Verify issues, consular processing and naturalization.
